Immune-boosting Anti-inflammatory Tea

There’s a pretty nasty bug going around here and I was unfortunate enough to be bogged down by it at the end of 2016. Part of the reason people tend to get sick around this time of the year is that they’re slightly more run-down, sleep-deprived, and indulgent, which means that the immune system isn’t working as well as it should.
Some vitamins and supplements that will help your immune system include: vitamin C (I like camu camu berry powder), zinc, vitamin D, garlic, probiotics, and medicinal mushrooms like cordyceps (this list could be very long, but those are my basics).

And then here’s a tea that is soothing to the throat, brings up phlegm, and relieves congestion:
– small chunk of fresh turmeric or 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
– small piece of cinnamon stick
– 1/2 tsp unpasteurised honey
– squeeze of fresh lemon juice
– boiling water
Add the cinnamon stick and turmeric to a cup, pour in some boiling water, and let this steep covered for 2-3 minutes. Then, add in the honey and lemon juice and drink while still hot/warm. When you’re sick, you can drink this 3 times a day.
